Refund & Cancellation Policy

Orissa Association for the Blind (“OAB”) appreciates the support and generosity of donors who contribute towards our charitable activities and programmes.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to donations made through the OAB website or through payment gateways linked to the website.

Donations

All donations made to Orissa Association for the Blind are voluntary contributions intended to support the charitable objectives and activities of the organisation.

Once a donation has been successfully completed, it is generally considered final and non-refundable.

Cancellation of Donations

A donor may request cancellation of a donation only where the transaction has been made in error, duplicated, or was not authorised by the donor.

Cancellation requests should be submitted as soon as possible after the transaction.

OAB will review each request and determine whether a refund can be processed.

Incorrect or Duplicate Transactions

If a donor believes that:

  • the same donation was made more than once due to a technical error;
  • an incorrect amount was charged;
  • the transaction was unauthorised; or
  • money was debited from the donor’s account but the donation transaction was not successfully recorded,

the donor should contact OAB promptly with the relevant transaction details.

The donor may be requested to provide:

  • Donor’s name
  • Email address or mobile number
  • Date of transaction
  • Amount paid
  • Transaction/reference ID
  • Relevant payment confirmation or bank statement, where required

    Refund Processing

Where OAB approves a refund, the refund will normally be processed through the original payment method or through the payment gateway used for the transaction.

The time taken for the amount to appear in the donor’s bank account may depend on the donor’s bank, card issuer, UPI service provider or payment gateway.

Failed Transactions

If the donor’s bank account has been debited but the donation has not been successfully received or recorded by OAB, the donor should contact us with the transaction/reference number.

After verification, OAB will coordinate with the relevant payment service provider or bank as necessary.

Tax Receipts

Where a donation has already been reported or a statutory donation certificate/receipt has been issued, any refund or cancellation will be subject to applicable legal and tax requirements.

Donors should not claim any tax benefit on a donation that has subsequently been refunded or cancelled.

No Cash Refund

Approved refunds, where applicable, will not normally be made in cash and will be processed through the appropriate banking/payment channel.

Policy Changes

OAB reserves the right to modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy when necessary. The updated policy will be published on this website.
